Teresita Garetto
Dr. Teresita Garetto is one of the first members of GICIC. She graduated as a Chemical Engineer from the Chemical Engineering School (FIQ) of the National University of Litoral (UNL) in 1976 and as a PhD in Sciences from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, in 2006. She started working as a professor-researcher at the Chair of Unit Processes of FIQ in 1977, to be later a member of the CONICET Scientific Researcher Career at the Catalysis and Petrochemical Research Institute (INCAPE). In her extensive career, Teresita directed and participated in numerous national and international research projects and made various stays in Mexico, Spain, Brazil and France. She contributed to the growth of GICIC by training graduate and undergraduate students and published numerous scientific papers. Teresita was also the first president of the Argentine Catalysis Society (SACat). Her most recent areas of work included the development of catalysts with environmental application and catalytic processes for the upgrading of renewable resources. Teresita retired from UNL in 2018 as a Full Professor and as Principal Investigator of CONICET at INCAPE.
